My friend has some woods behind his house, within city limits. We want to be able to legally paintball there, and I’m pretty sure you have to get a permit/license and also register the area as a “paintball field” or something. How do you do that?
By the way the woods are not technically his property, but it’s just “common ground”, so nobody owns it.

Well if your under 18 or 16 (I forgot which age)
You can’t buy the paintball gun.
But you could use it.
For the backyard to legally be called a field has to go to a police department…..
They get someone who inspects the backyard and make sure that no one else far from the backyard could get shot or affected by the paint.
Do what the first answer says, if you are not permitted to play there because of otherseople’s safety then you should consider getting paintball netting, it can be up to 20 feet tall and cover large areas. It’s a bit expensive but I imagine that it would be worth it. The netting will stop all paint balls that hit it. And if they still wont let you just find a field near you.
